What is the trip schedule?

The itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrival to the island of Sardinia

    Welcome to Sardinia!  You will transfer from the airport to Cala Gonone, the seaside town where we will be based throughout the week. 

    Get settled, meet the team and enjoy delicious italian food.

  • Day 2: Cala Goloritze - The Hidden Beach!

    We start our adventure with what Sardinia is famous for - a beautiful beach!  

    But this one is a little different- it’s only reachable by hiking. 

    After an early breakfast we drive for about 1.5 hours to the starting point and then its another 1.5 hours on foot.  

    The first sign that we are almost there is the 143 metre tall limestone pinnacle that towers above the cove.

    We spend a few hours enjoying a dip at the crystal clear water before returning.

  • Day 3: Monte Corrasi

    Today we summit Sardinia’s second highest peak.

    After about an hour transfer by car we start our hike - destination Monte Corrasi.

    The trail is around 9.5 km in total and we reach 1430m.  

    The views as we emerge from the forest out to the plains above are something else!  

    We enjoy a packed lunch on the mountain before descending.

    Return in the afternoon to Cala Gonone and relax or take a dip on the local beaches.

  • Day 4: Discover the gulf of Orosei's beaches

    Today we spend the day at sea!

    After breakfast we take a boat out onto the crystal clear waters and navigate Sardinia’s stunning coastline.  We will stop off various beaches where we can enjoy a swim..

    We will also stop close to a few caves that pierce the rock and we dive in.

    Packed lunch on the boat and we also enjoy the traditional italian aperitivo later in the day.

    Return to Cala Gonone after a sun kissed day and relax.

  • Day 5: Su Gorropu Canyon

    One of the largest canyons in Europe awaits!

    After around 45mins transfer by car along mountain roads to the starting point, we descend around 5km.  

    The hike takes almost 4hours; we trek through a juniper forest and enjoy the views.

    The Canyon is spectacular- once we get there we climb further in over large boulders- you will love it!

    We then hike about an hour to our transfer back to the starting point.

    Transfer back to Cala Gonone and we take a well deserved dip in the sea!

  • Day 6: The heights of the gulf of Orosei

    Today we give you a taste of traditional Sardinia with a typical Shepherd’s lunch at a rustic mountain hut. 

    After a short transfer by car, we start our hike - its a small one today, about an hour and we hike along the coast.  

    There are great views of the whole Gulf of Orosei.

    We then stop for an extensive multi course lunch at a typical shepherd's hut where everything is produced and cooked by the shepherd- organic and real!

    Return to Cala Gonone and enjoy our last night on this gorgeous island!

  • Day 7: Arrivederci Sardinia!

    Transfer to the airport and return home.

What is included & excluded from this trip?

The Inclusions

Accommodation

Hotel accommodation in double and/or triple rooms in a beachfront 3 stars hotel.

Single supplement is possible and is subject to availability and extra cost.

Transfers

One group transfer - from and to Costa Esmeralda airport in Olbia - will be provided, which is timed to coincide with the arrival of the majority of the travelers. (The time of the transfer will be communicated to all travelers ahead of time). You may join this transfer at no extra cost, provided you can be at the airport before the transfer leaves, or you can talk to us in order to arrange a private transfer at extra cost.

4x4 jeep rides to the starting point of the treks are also included.

Meals & Beverages

Breakfast buffet at the hotel is included. Packed lunches on day  2,3 and 5 are included. All other meals are excluded. All types of beverages are excluded.

Team Leader & Guides

A Sports Guru team leader along with local guides will be helping you throughout the whole journey.

Equipment Assistance

Equipment checklist will be provided. Technical assistance on buying the needed equipment will be provided before the trip along with gear check on arrival.

Adventure Certificates

Completion certificates will be distributed to everyone at the end of The adventure.

The Exclusions

Flights, Visa Fee & Travel Insurance

All international and domestic flights along with travel/medical insurance and visa fees are excluded. Travelers are responsible for getting adequate travel/medical insurance for the trip and for checking the visa requirements as per their passport. (Italy is part of the Schengen Area)

Others

Any other service that is not mentioned in the itinerary and in the inclusion section is excluded.

Final Payment: 10% 1 week before departure

Cancellation Policy:
Up to 1 month before travel: 30% down payment is not refundable
Less than 1 month to travel: 50% of the total amount is not refundable
Less than 1 week to travel: 100% of the total amount is not refundable.
Note: Refund can be made due to rejection of Visa only in case the Visa application was submitted at least 3 months before travel time.

  • What is the weather like in Sardinia?

    The daytime average temperature in June is a warm 21°C. With highs of 26°C you'll need to wear lots of high factor sun cream, while the nights dip to a low of 16°C. 

  • What equipments should I have with me on this adventure?

    A checklist for all equipment and material that you need for this adventure will be provided well before you travel. 

    We will ensure you are as best prepared as possible!

    We offer full support with your flight tickets, from advice to booking them for you- whatever you prefer!

    Let us start by saying that it is very essential to have a medical & travel insurance on these kind of trips.

    First thing to do when choosing the proper travel and medical insurance for the trip is to check the heighest altitude reached during the expedition.

    Then, check with your current medical insurance if it covers you for this altitude. If not try to search for a company that does.
