Hello fellow adventurer,
Are you wondering why Nepal should be your next destination? I am the sports Guru and I will help answer your questions:
When I first ventured to Nepal (some decade ago), my aim was to hike the legendary Himalayas. Well, the trip surely offered me that, but also sooo much more.
Here are the top 5 reasons for which I keep going back to this beautiful country:
1- Nepal has the densest concentration of the world heritage sites and is rich in diverse culture (over 80 ethnic groups); a culture so different than ours in its food, tradition, art, folklore, religion, dance and songs... that it introduces me to a whole new mentality. It is the birth place of Buddha after all.
2- Nepal has extraordinary landscape; it is like a Van Gaugh's painting is live in front of your eyes: waterfalls, lakes (Kajin Sara lake being the highest in the world), sunrises behind prestigious mountain peaks (Mount Everest being also the highest in the world), 8 out of the 10 highest mountains, large valleys (Rolwaling valley being the highest, and Pokhara valley being the second largest) ... Being around all this greatness had such a humbling effect on me!
3- The sceneries along the trekking routes of Nepal are so enticing that thousands of trekkers choose Nepal as their destination. Among others, trekking in the Annapurna region is commended as one of the best in the world. That allowed me to encounter people from all around the globe, and each and every one of them had an amazing experience to share!
4- Hundreds of species of birds and animals make their living in Nepal’s wilderness. So, encountering a monkey or two while hiking is nothing but normal, and regaining your strength when reaching your destination village for the day over the sounds of exotic birds is the most relaxing sanctuary for me.
5- Nepalese people are known for their friendly and pleasant nature. Wherever you go, smiles follow. Their life and subsequently the life that I lead once in the mountains is so simple and refreshing, that I always came back from my trips with a simpler, easy-going view on things.
For all those reasons, I keep going back to Nepal, and I invite you to join me in our next adventure.
Trust me, I am the Guru after all!
